using chunky yarn with bigger needles and the same number.
I'll let you know how it goes...
Stash Killer Afghan
A Great way to use up odds and ends, novelty
yarns, ribbons, and that stuff you bought on sale but can't
remember why....

Grab about 3000yds of various color coordinated
yarns - a couple of these should be ones you can carry throughout
and about worsted weight (roughly 500yds) . With #35 needles
and at least 6 strands of yarn, CO 45-50 stitches. The gauge
varies but seems to run about a stitch an inch so 45 stitches
will get you about 45". Knit 6 rows and then continue
in stockinette stitch with a 5 st. garter border on each
side. When you are satisfied with the length, knit 6 rows
garter and BO. Change yarns as the impulse strikes, but
not more than two in the same row. I actually used up to
8 yarns at a time in this one, cause a few were quite thin.
Wendy's Two Hour Scarf
5" by 84" plus fringe
One sk. Wendy Frizzante, One ball Artful
Mystery, One Ball Berroco Zen. Size 19 needles
Just for the fun of it roll all three of
these together into one big beautiful ball. You can use
what is left over for fringe along with some from the ball.
CO 10 stitches. Knit 2 rows. Row three and
every 14th row after this: Double wrap for each stitch (creates
20 stitches). Then the next row you will knit only one of
these stitches and drop the extra stitch off the needle
creating a longer stitch. Continue this until you have the
longer stitch 9 times or to desired length. Knit two more
rows and bind off loosely. Cut long fringe (12" to
16") from leftovers, divide into ten fairly equal groups
and tie on five groups of fringes to each end. Leave uneven
or trim, maybe even thread some beads on....

Here's a New One....

The Wedding Shawl
on size 35s. It is so named cause I knit it wear to a wedding....Pick
Three yarns. This one was done in a variegated Llama/Wool
mix, a novelty with some silk in it, and a lime mohair yarn.
I then beaded the fringe which makes it more yummy. There
were about 200 yards of each yarn (but it wasn't even)and
they were held together throughout. The shawl is 30"
long and about 48" from side to side......But on to
the pattern.
CO3
Row 1: Knit one, make one, knit one, make
one, knit one.
Row 2 and all even rows, knit.
Row 3 and all odd rows: K1, make 1, knit
to one stitch before end of row, make 1, k1.
Continue until you have only enough yarn
left to bind off loosely in all yarns. You may leave some
for fringe - in the case of mine it just worked out that
I had enough of two of the yarns to fringe it. You could
also fringe with a matching ribbon or other yarns. Add beads
to the fringe.
